Don't you believe that for a minute. You've got a lot of competition here. Some of whom have appeared earlier on this thread.

But Allan and I have already met our banning quotas for the day. We don't need another notch on our six-guns today.

Hey Jim!!! Take a look at our handiwork. That'll teach you to start a thread that's just perfect for master hijackers. Oh yeah, that's right. You're one of the best of 'em yourself!

What the hell happened here?
I go for a night out and the thread turns into a party and old Bitsy aint invited. Ed and Allan I can understand giving me a poke in the ribs...but that bald bloody kiwi...he can keep his flipping beak out of it. In fact there is still a point to this thread...escape! When that tosser skypes me I feel like I want to hit escape, by jumping out of my bleeding window. And no I still aint found no macro! J |

It is complex but the ESC keep can be disabled in Windows XP. but it is not a good idea. I cannot remember exactly how it is done but it is under KEYBOARDS key behaviour. The easier thing to do is when you hit the key accidentally, hit CTRL Z and this should take you to the point before you hit the key. Hope this works on your PC. |

There are several ways to do this.
On most keyboards you are able by physically disable a key by removing it and either breaking or shortening the plastic plunger, or destroying the physical contact underneath it. Of course this is a one-way modification. I have done that some time ago for the "Windows" key. If you have a "smart" keyboard using the IntelliType driver you can remap the keys from Control Panel -> Keyboard -> Key mapping. Most keyboards are NOT smart keyboards. Download and run the Microsoft utility called "remapkey.exe". Even though this utility is available on the MS website under "Microsoft Server 2003" it does work for Windows XP. No idea about Vista though. If you are knowledgeable with computers you can just disable it by editing the registry. This is the fastest way but you may potentially render your PC useless if you make a mistake, so I won't elaborate on this... One question I have is WHY hitting the <esc> key erases the content of the message box. This is not a desirable behaviour. It introduces potential problems (deleting one's message) and provides no benefit. I would suggest a TR to vBulletin.
