dating
Trying to accurately date a serial which is a little indistinct.
Its on a Bi-Metal Datejust and appears to be 563 (or 8 or 0) 1602. Can anyone assist ? |

Exact dating is not possible, but if there are 7 digits total, the watch is from the late 70s, e.g. 1978. However, if there are 6 digits, the watch is from the early 1960s, although I'm not sure if that reference goes back that far. Are you sure the case is two tone, I thought that 1602 was gold.
This is why it's best to post photos.

It's not clear what you are asking, hence Dan's comment about the model number 1602.
Are you saying the serial number is one of 5631602, 5681602 or 5601602? If so, the best information would indicate it was made around 1979. |

There is no true accurate dating method, only Internet guess charts.
The best that you can ever get is within a couple of years either way. A single digit isn't going to make a difference. ![]()
