From easiest to hardest rolex models to get from AD
As headline says, I'm curious about what's the forum's impression on which models are hardest to get, starting with the easiest and upwards to the hardest. Sort of like a ranking if you will.
Any suggestions? |

Guessing that a TT 28mm DJ with diamond dial is the easiest and pretty sure that the rainbow Daytona is hardest. |

At a high level, here’s my initial list for discussion. I’m no expert… Just based in my impressions and what I’ve seen it ADs.
There will be plenty of variance within lines… a 31mm diamond DJ will be much easier to find than a 41mm blue DJ (and the latter is probably harder to find than a lot of watches in lines further down the list). Whichever one is trading for the highest markup on the grey market is the hardest to get. Go look at a rainbow Daytona.

Really, a CHNR in the case?.. Availability in Canada is so much worse than the U S. Picked up mine recently and was told there were dozens of people who wanted the piece..Thats a quick flip for a few thousand dollars if someone is so inclined as well...

I'd imagine the Oyster Perpetual difficulty would depend on color of dial, making it range across the list

Where would the WG daytona with the silver dial be on the list? (not the green, blue, meteorite, etc.)

Haven’t seen a mans SS, TT or YG any Rolex in an AD case in Years. Most of 2020 into 2021 we were not traveling but just saying…The other day I saw a RG SkyDweller but it was brought out of the back and shown to me as already sold.

I went to two local ADs recently and I didn’t see any Rolex bigger than a 28mm. Put my name down for an oyster perp and explorer 2 but told it could be 6 months or more before I hear anything.

IMO Daytona is the hardest line to obtain. If we compare specific models, IE a Blue SkyD vs a TT Daytona, the SkyD would be a tougher model to come by.
As prior poster noted, follow the grey market and usually the markup will indicate which are harder to source pieces/lines. |

I think OPs are way higher up than some of you are thinking on the list unless you're going for the dull ones. I'd say they are harder to get than subs.

Anecdotal evidence is of course immaterial in the grand scheme of things, just thought it was interesting given this list. |

Daytona is by far the hardest one.
I have amazing relationships with several ADs in different countries, last time I got offered a Daytona was three or four years ago. I bought two SkyD blue dial, two GMT meteorite, several Batman and Pepsi but I still didn’t get a Daytona offered (even though I already have both stainless steel versions that I bought when it came out) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Day Dates have become much harder to get as of late. In fact precious metal watches in general have become harder and harder to source new from AD’s. No list will be perfect and there are exceptions amongst certain references as well. In my 30 plus years of Rolex collecting it’s never been like this.

All of them since I have recently been in four AD's and they all had completely empty showcases. They don't seem to like it when I say it looks like they are out of business.
