A serial with tritium dial

Happy Friday everyone,

I’m looking at an A serial sub (1999) with a t<25 dial and holes in the case. I’ve never seen an A serial with a tritium dial before but the seller claims it is original to the watch. Is it possible that it is correct?

Thanks and would appreciate the wisdom of someone more knowledgeable than I.

My A serial sub is a holes case, Swiss only luminova dial. Mine is a 16613LB.

Do the hands still glow?

It could be a “tritinova” dial. The time period is close. These were transitional dials marked with tritium markings but were actually luminova dials.

I don’t know much about them other than they appeared right before Swiss only dials for a short period of time.

This is what I would normally expect from a watch from this period. Strange that is not.

Good point, I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll go ahead and ask the seller, thanks.

I know it’s not strange. I was contributing because mine differed from what you’re looking at buying. Thus potentially helping your decision on purchasing or not.

A photo of the watch could be helpful.
