Ive owned 2 out of those 3 watches. The seamaster smp 300m and a Pelagos 2 liner. While I enjoyed them they didnt satisfy my want for a Rolex. I feel theyre great to accompany a rolex in the collection but not replace it.

Of course it is and if you want sound fiscal dive watch logic, buy a used SMP for $3800 and call it a day. The reality is if you want to go Rolex, the entire Rolex SS catalog is selling way above msrp. Extrapolate that and paying $35k for a $13k Daytona or $19k for a BLRO that cost the same as the new Sub41 could easily make $14kish a low price in where it could go. It’s a roller coaster ride and at some point you have to gage where you jump on at if you want to ride the ride. Either way you may get a bit queasy in your stomach but the thrill may be worth it.
