Hi. I live in Miami and was curious as far as what restaurant you were making the 2 hour wait for. Everything here is the latest "hot" spot and has an insane wait, IF they let you in the door.....lol!

as a former bartender, i tried to meet expectations for everyone, but always over-delivered for those who took care of me.

Resort cities like Miami are always a hotbed for Rolex spotting. When I was at the Baha Mar resort in Nassau recently- I'd say more than half of the guests wore Rolex, with a sprinkling of AP & Patek for good measure!

Cool story. I always find it never hurts to compliment someone on their watch. In most cases, they end up being a WIS or watch enthusiast, and you end up having a nice conversation about watches. Other times, you do get treated to some nice perks like the OP did!

I remember noticing the maitre d' wearing a 5 digit TT Sub at a restaurant. We ended up getting a nice table with views and the maitre d' ended up constantly dropping by my table whilst we were eating, wanting to talk about Rolexes to my wife's chagrin!
