But open to PR or Virgin Islands too.

Want off the beaten path, but with some of the niceties and convenience. Does this exist?

Would love ideas.
I’ve become addicted to road trips ! While most of mine are on a motorcycle, there has been many trips in a car in the past couple decades. One gets to enjoy their passion, while experiencing the most versatile geography and scenery of any nation in the world ! I always suggest a general direction agenda with no other plans except to see what one wants !

Some of these suggestions are season dependent, but all are auto themed and spectacular !

) NJ resident, > Adirondacks, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine. Experience Fort Ticonderoga Ferry, Smugglers Notch, Mt Washington, Kancamagus Hwy, stop by Red’s Eats and go to Pimiquid Point.
) Black Hills SD area. Drive through The Badlands, Wall drug, Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, The Needles Hwy, Iron Mt Road, visit Deadwood, eat at the Banging Burro in Custer SD.
) The Bighorn Mountains WY, route 14 & 14A, route 16, Ten Sleep Canyon, Shell Crazy Woman Rd & Canyon ….. all the spectacular Mountain View’s of the Rockies without all the dumbass breweries and foo-foo “Karen” shopping, just beautiful drives and scenery.
) The Rockies ……. Drive up Pikes Peak, go to Crystal Mill, drive route 550, RMNP Fall River Road, The Grand Tetons, …too much to list
) Glacier National Park ! Going To The Sun Road, go to Polebridge and get a bear claw, then to Bowman Lake to enjoy ! Kalispell, Whitefish, Polson, Flathead Lake, ……. etc. Words cannot express the grandeur of GNP and surrounding area !
) Montana/Wyoming ………. Yaak Valley, drive Lolo Pass, Phillipsburg, Avondo, Togwotee Mts, The Wind River Range, eat at the Pitchfork Fondu in Pinedale, …………..too much to list !

Sorry, I could go on forever ……………. not much of a SW states fan for travel.

Two of our favorite locations out west are Grand Teton NP while staying in Jackson, and Sedona. We hike around during the day and return for some good eats in the evenings.

Sedona and Grand Canyon are good ideas. Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, New Mexico are different and will reset your brain.

No secret that we LOVE to travel - and what's a thread without pictures!

America, the truly beautiful.

Grand Teton, Acadia, The Cape, The Keys, Amelia Island, Denver, The Great Smoky Mountains, Chattanooga, Charleston, Nashville, Savannah, St. Augustine, and of course our backyard of SF...to name a few. Plenty of other recs but these were all in the last couple years.

If you pick the last one, maybe a few of us could meetup. Also, if you want my take on any of them, let me know as well.

If you want a fun drive -

The top of Hwy 395 head south - then take 10 and head east then pick a road and head north. Beautiful drive

Or if you want to go through the middle Hwy 395 to Hwy 50 to Hwy 70 then head home

You can’t go wrong with so many SoCal spots. Ojai area is amazing same with palm desert and surrounding. Cool little trip to somewhere near mammoth such as the small little foothill towns of bishop, etc will give you access to amazing hikes and some really beautiful scenes. Food won’t be great there but ok.

RED ROCKS! Damn. My dream to see a show there. We were going to see the Avett brothers but, then Covid. I’ll be in Denver in early Nov for a professional training and only stuff there isn’t what I’d be interested in. Great pics as always. Sorry for threadjack

Not sure how you liked Maui or Hawaii on your last trip but you don't need a passport to get there.

If interested I'll walk you through the Covid stuff.

We just did a 1600 mile road-trip to Cleveland to see the Christmas Story house, Erie for the beach, Buffalo for some wings, Niagara for the falls, Pittsburg for hills and fries on my sandwich, and finally back home. The fam loved it. I’d recommend a similar journey

We just got back from PR. I would hard pass on that.

Road trip would be fun but this time of year be ready for some unstable weather. Joshua Tree could be getting freezing. All the mountain ideas you could catch a snow storm. Certainly beautiful parts of the country but weather is getting into that unpredictable time.

Utah is amazing. Zion, Bryce, Moab over to CO into Telluride etc is all a great area.

Thanks for all the suggestions team.

I ended up booking at trip at Canyon Ranch in Lenox Mass. The Berkshires are beautiful this time of year.

This place is all fitness all the time. Hiking, yoga, all sorts of classes etc, and even seminars. Perfectly balanced meals too. And I get a decent road trip to the facility.

Next time I will go a bit grander. However, this will be nice.

Will definitely refer back here for next time. Thanks again.

Sun Valley/Ketchum, Idaho-I like it better than Jackson Hole, but both are really nice.
