A friend of mine does it for his employees, but he hasn’t been able to get enough Rolex consistently so he has given out a bunch of random brands. He throws a great holiday party

Owner builds a strong history with AD while decreasing his corporate taxes and pleasing his employees. Everybody win. I love it.

Yes, but they have to request it on the day of your hire so that the AD will have it by your retirement date

My company lets you go shopping on the company Credit Card every 5 years of service
The amount you're allowed to spend goes up every 5 years
I've heard of some of the older guys buying themselves Tags or Breitlings at the 25 year mark

I recently cracked 10 years and the "shopping spree" i got was enough to buy a mid range espresso machine

Apparently, once you get to 40 years of service the company flies you and your partner to our Global HQ in Germany for dinner with the Company Board of Directors and a tour of the factory and surrounding area

Overall i think those days are long gone but there might be a select few around... my company certainly won't... not that they could walk into an AD an buy one anyway should they wish to.

I have seen these Quarter Century and Milestone timepieces only in old pictures. I had to do a virtual War and Peace justification to get a long serving (30 year) retiree a solid Gold Longines on a leather strap in one recent company I worked for.

I think it’s only a thing now if the big boss is a Watch Guy… All Publicly Listed companies globally have gone way tight-ass on this stuff. Too contentious! Go figure!

I believe a few TRF members who own their own companies have gifted Rolex to employees.

They’re probably too low key to admit it

I work for a large Fortune 100 company and just hit my ten years… we got to pick an item from the “10 year collection” and it was laughable.

Mostly junk trinkets like folding camp chairs and portable Bluetooth speakers. Almost felt insulted, but that’s a publicly traded company for you. Gotta keep those shareholders happy!

I worked in supply chain for them back in 2008. Back then we had an arrangement with Tourneau to provide the watches and at the time they were only two tone DJ. My 20th anniversary came and instead of the DJ I selected a Tag Heuer Link Chronograph. That was in 2008. I didn't want another DJ as I have my father's IBM DJ from 1982

Around 2012, they increased the offerings to include Submariners. As I was supporting our Marine Crews, I had about 5 or 6 watches to hand out to our employees during Crew Changes etc.

Not really sure what they do now, but the arrangements we had with Tourneau were not bad really. Subs could be had at that time for $8000. The Two Tone DJ was still available along with stainless his and her DJ or OP.
