Yes OP, the drought is only at ADs, since whenever one goes to any event there are Rolex everywhere. I was at the Miami Auto show this past weekend, and the place was a more a car and watch show, since 100s of visitors were sporting Rolex and other luxury watches.

My local ADs do not yet have the "Dummy model display" so I haven't been able to any of the popular models ever since their release. Visited Europe a few years ago and even then I saw nothing other than dozens and dozens of Datejusts & Subs. Still I'm on a "list" for a BLNR and Daytona FWIW... probably won't get anything since I'm not planning on spending $50k on jewelry just to get another watch.

I was at a pga tour event earlier this year and Subs were standard issue for almost all the caddies, coaches, equipment reps, and half the fans.
I saw 1 Milgauss and it was the highlight in a sea of subs |

Interestingly enough, since F1 has been gaining popularity via Netflix and the addition of Miami GP. A lot of my watch enthusiast pals have picked up on the sport too.
Not so much of my non-wis buddies. Seems like F1 fans and watch collectors are one in the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My whole family already had the vid, so did my boss and work colleagues. And I haven't seen my colleagues in 2 years so it's not like I caught it from work. No way I'm getting medicated for a flu I already had. Since you got the shot you're safe, right? Right?

Saw lots of nice Rolex models at COTA too. The most I've ever seen in public.

People need to get on with their lives, if you want to hide away from crowds wearing a mask for the next 50 years then I respect your decision to do that, just as I respect other people’s decision not to be vaccinated (for the record I have been jabbed). I thought it was great to see all those people at the weekend having a good time. |

My wife and I went to the USGP in '18 and '19. We were lucky to be in RedBull's paddock club. The watch spotting was unreal. Saw just about every Rolex model. Oh yeah and a bunch of RM's.

I saw lots Rolexes there while wearing my 216750. Lots of TT Subs. As others have mentioned, getting out after the race was a gigantic shit show. I was parked in Lot L, about turn 11 and it took 3:38 to get out of the lot and another hour to finally get going on the roads.
We commute to the race from San Antonio as Austin prices are crazy.

The attitude to Covid in this thread, fucking hell.
FWIW it's killed a few people I know, and not necessarily older people. One of my friends had to give CPR to his partner, and is now a single parent because she didn't make it. If you don't want to take the vaccine, fine, it's your funeral (maybe literally), but don't crow about it and belittle the effect of a disease that has killed around 5 million and is far from over. Yes, lets talk about watches, but it's not virtue signalling FFS. |

Watches and F1 go hand in hand - I also went to Monaco F1 a few years back and I spotted Richard Milles, multiple Nautilus variants, APs and Daytonas on peoples wrists.
