Ordered DJ 41 Wimbledon Today

I saw many threads back in Aug stating all AD's stop allowing custom orders for any model. Called around SoCal and one AD down in OC volunteered to order any 36 mm model and smaller or any TT DJ 41 mm.

I went down this afternoon and paid a 50% deposit. My sales lady mentioned that they're probably the only AD in SoCal offering orders and she specifically said that this is not a Rolex mandate but a mandate per each AD (her comments were, "certain AD's such as the larger corporate stores do not want to go through the hassle of doing customer orders"). Though, Rolex has recently moved certain models to allocation only such as DD.

She also confirmed that only one customer order can be made at a time and if you're number 2 in the queue, you would have to wait until the first customer receives their watch. Luckily for me, I'm 1st in line. Apparently, the order will be sent straight to Rolex tomorrow...

Not sure what the heck to believe but we shall see in 3-6 months... also, they had NO stock whatsoever...just a bunch of display pieces with the time stuck at 10:11

No stock?

Maybe not in the cases but I’ll bet they got plenty of good stuff in the safe waiting for their preferred clients.

I do not believe it is physically possible for the entire Rolex AD network to survive with ‘no stock’ as we keep getting told.

It costs literally hundreds of thousands of £’s /$’s to set up a Rolex AD.

Rolex themselves maybe a registered charity but the AD network certainly isn’t.

Good luck and I hope the wait goes quickly for you. Great choice of a watch also.

My AD also told me she could order me TT DJ 41 as well. Said it would be 4-5 months.

Has always been my question, How do you own a Rolex boutique, or maintain floor space for Rolex but get nothing to sell? The perception may not match the reality.

There is no stock because Everything is sold as soon as it comes in not because they don’t receive any supply. (Of course some goodies held in the safe).

AD ‘s have never made as much easy money than they are right now.

My AD’s said they had their best year in Covid and this year in terms of watches. So supply is there as everyone says. It’s just who gets it and when.

Interestingly we don’t see Rolex in every person we see (big cities) unless at right events, restaurants , hotels, etc the right “exclusive” group that Rolex wants it to be associated with.

ADs just give them to only the ones they like, most VIP’s or just they like, being vip doesn’t quarantines an allocation of any model these days.
