Any risks to buying an older (8+ year) Royal Oak?

I’m entertaining picking up an older model (2013) Royal Oak 15450ST. I believe it was recently serviced by AP and has 2 year AP warranty.

Is there any risk to purchasing a 2013 model versus looking for something newer?

If it was recently serviced by AP and that service is documented, I’d say you’re good to go!

How often do they recommend servicing the 15450ST? I'm looking at a 2015 example with no known service history.

hopefully you are saving a few bucks - should be 10% cheaper minimum than a later model.

You believe it was serviced? I'd only buy it if it was, or factor in a service in the price sometime soon. Your wife will love it though for sure

High end timepieces should last for decades, but it might need some service every five to ten years.

I think you should check the price delta between the 2013 model and a newer (around 2020) one. If its not too much, I would say a new one is better.

Thanks for the help everyone. Still thinking of going grey before I (ever) get the call. Pricing of newer models aren’t that more than 2015 ones, so will probably go for the newest model I can get my hands on at a fair price.
