It's just beautiful, a lovely, timeless classic! Makes the new ones blush in shame, if you ask me! And it shows how Subs can stand the test of time. Do make sure it's serviced properly (new gaskets, cleaning, oiling, pressure check etc.) so it carry on ticking for decades to come!

Very nice 1680!

Don't ever let a Rolex RSC get their hands on it!

Yes I took it to them and they suggested to change all the dial and hands. So I took it to a trusted independent who replaced the gaskets and main spring etc. Runs beautifully.

Thank you, I love hearing his story about how he went to the USA for the first time with my mother and bought this watch that back then not many knew about.

Something about vintage subs that is beautiful. Photo taken with a Leica Q2 in Macro.
Hans Wilsdorf created an amazing watch design with the Sub 1680

1680 is a great piece and yours looks very nice. So special to have Dads watch.
Only thing that I notice is the 6 is not open.
Has someone replaced the date wheel?

It seems 6 is but maybe not 26? It is silvery in colour.

Fantastic photo

Wouldn’t it be cool to see that watch stay in your family for eternity?
