Size difference between AP 15450 and PP 5711
Though I've been collecting for awhile I just held a 5711 in person today. It never sang to me so I was never interested. When holding it against the 15450 I felt the 5711 is just slightly bigger... And definitely look the smallest between the AP 15500/15400 and VC 4500. Is it illusion or reality?

5711 is wider than the 15450, its almost 42mm when the cross-section is measured from 3 to 9. 15450 is 38mm.
5711 is less tall that is the top(12) to bottom(6) of the watch is shorter (38mm vs 40mm) than the 15450 though so it can look smaller on some wrists. 15400 is 41mm cross-section 3 to 9 and almost 43mm 12 to 6. It is also thicker than the 5711. So it feels and looks much bigger. |

Reality. 5711 blue looks like 40mm at best given that (i) the wings are set back, (ii) a wide bezel makes any watch look smaller, and (iii) the contrast of a dark dial makes any watch look smaller as well (except for those with dark bezels). 5711 white looks larger than blue due to its monochrome appearance.
Couldn't do any of AP 15500/15400 and VC 4500 with 6.6 inch wrists but 5711 works just fine. I am always amazed that the 5711 dial is as small as that of my 34mm 3998P. |

To me, 5711 wears smaller bc it is thinner . I never liked the proportions of the 15450, tried it on numerals times but just felt awkward to me which is ashame bc I really wanted to like it as the 15400/500 is just too big for me

I see. Glad that I'm sane.
Another thing I notice is the clasp for the 5711 is rather tight. I had to assert some force to pull it open, while the AP is just pushing the 2 buttons. Not to mention the 5711 is not as sturdy as the AP. Ergonomically I feel the AP is a better built watch for me |
