differance between ref 16234 and 16220 datejust

Both of the datejust look so similar, but why does it have differance ref#. Thank you

The difference is 16234 is ss and white gold and the 16220 is all stainless steel

You already got the answer, but here are some pics:

The 16234, 18 KT white gold bezel:



The 16220, STEEL "engine-turned" bezel:



In 2004, the DJ's got some updates:
  • "Block" case (more "squarish" looks to it)
  • Broader and POLISHED lugs
  • SOLID end links and centre links of the bracelet. Concealed clasp on the Jubilee bracelet and "Easy Extension" link on the updated OYSTER bracelet.
  • CRB (Chapter Ring Branding)

Here is a pic of the DJ 116234 which is the updated version of the 16234 (note the SIX numbers in the reference number):
