However, when you look at these two side-by-side, my eyes just zoom in on the thick lugs. The 11 series case looks bigger visually, perhaps due to the thick lugs. I don't think the 1mm case size difference will make much of a difference overall. |

Depends on preference, but I’d also summarize like this:
- 5-digit photographs well, and wearability depends on your bracelet preference (do you like rattle?) - 11 series doesn’t photograph as well (if you are fixated on larger lugs), but wears incredible - 12 series photographs well (AR coating / proportions with more tapered bezel), and also wears well. I also like the visual of the larger hour hand that’s now in proportion with the minute hand, the coronet between “Swiss Made”, etc. 41mm is a misnomer, and I think Rolex just hit it out of the park on the 12 series. |

Have had both. Echo all the comments stated. The 12 series wears better and slightly more comfortable. The thinner lugs and wider bracelet are fantastic.

I was a 116610 hater for a while. Still dislike those lugs. Even hated on the 126610 before I tried it on because of the 41mm size.
The 126610 is an absolute joy to wear and fits spot on.

116610LN or 126610LN
As an owner and lover of a 116610LN, I had the chance to try on the 41mm 126110LN at a local AD. The watch, amongst others like the Blue Skydweller, were “Exhibition Only”.
If I am being honest, the 12 series wore much better, and was perfect. The bracelet width and clasp size (for me) on the 12 series is much ado about nothing. The 12 series is pretty much perfection in a modern watch. Enjoying my 11 series today, and will not trade into the 12. But, to a person, the 12 is superior. |

The 12 is just a better looking watch. I know some like the wider lugs and more square case of the 11 but for me it’s one of those once seen cannot be unseen things. I had a TT 11 series sub. Felt that the lugs were visually less blocky due to the gold centre in the end link but ultimately I just couldn’t see past them and it had to go. I also don’t get the hysteria around the wider bracelet and clasp. But I acknowledge that I much prefer the even wider bracelet on my SD43 which is 22mm between the lugs. IMO Rolex fixed all that was wrong with the 11 series subs with the 12. It’s not even materially larger. So it’s a no brainier for me. But of course we’re all different and have our own views. I have the 116610LN and although I've never tried on a 126610LN, from all of the pictures I see online the 126610LN definitely has better proportions, but ultimately it just didn't seem too much of a difference to me really, so I would not go through the hassle to acquire/trade it.

The measurement of 41mm vs 40mm is just on the bezel with an increase of .3mm i think? All this being said, It is possible to like the 11 more than the 12 for looking blockier, more "MAXI". And that is why I like it, it does offer a more butch look. But wanting an 11 because it's more comfortable or smaller is certainly not a reason to want it more, because that's a clear winner for the 12. |

This not a scientific method of measuring the case depth, however it is close enough to show that there is some difference and hence one of the reasons, the 12 series fits better on my wrist.

To me it goes like this:
Comfort and balance: 12 series Case including lugs etc: 12 series AR coating: 12 series (sharper black) Bracelet and clasp: 11 series Though I realize the 12 series bracelet and clasp is probably why it wins the comfort and balance category. Overall my advice would be this: go for an 11 series if you can't get the same variation in a 12 series (e.g. hulk, smurf, and to some extent the bluesy given gold lettering, but that's personal preference). But among the black versions? I would go 12 series every time. |
