LV Returns

Hello All,
Quite some time ago my beloved D serial LV Sub took a dive into a tile floor, landing face down of course. The damage was major. I posted about it before but to refresh, the crystal was shattered, the hands were mangeled, the gloss maxi dial scratched in a couple of places. I took it upon myself to find the parts and have it serviced and repaired. Wile crystal and hands were easy to find I could not find a correct dial for replacement.
Well after some time I came to grips with the dial and took it to an AD for service and repair. The dial was discussed and I was informed that a replacement from Rolex was only 400.00 USD. I opted to have that done in Oct of 21. Well...Fast forward to 2-14-22 and I get the call that she was ready. The dial was backorderd and finally arrived. The watch had never been polished and I asked that it be done but very lightly. The results are great I think. The watch still has it battle scars from daily wear on the case and on the bezel from the dial shattering.
Being without this watch for close to 2 years makes me love it even more when I see it now and I know now how much I missed having it on my wrist.
Also i was given a pouch from the Ad but not one I have ever seen before. Pictures attached are the damaged dial and now the condition of the watch and pouch. So happy I just had to share.

Based on the title I opened this thread with very low expectations. Pleasantly surprised.

Too bad to polish and unpolished watch… Have you considered replacing the bezel? The cracking part would bother me.

Looks good, glad you have it back. I would have replaced the bezel but that’s just me. Why didn’t you send it directly to Rolex at the start instead of sourcing things like the hands and crystal on your own?

Rolex also makes the same pouch in brown leather exterior and suede interior.

I have both pouches green and tan of the thicker pouches. But in actual use, i like the old green service pouches better, takes up less space.

Great story and looks good. You could go 1-2 steps further and get a bezel replacement plus some laser-welding on the damage to the case would bring it to almost new

That looks great, it’s a nice feeling to get your watch back after a service and a polish
