Personally I find case back stickers gross, it’s a breeding ground for bacteria.

Omg wtf? This should be illegal!

Mystro have you ordered these? Are they two pieces like the OEM? Are they the same thickness and material. I would think not. But maybe

I liked the old case back hologram stickers (stopped in 2005/6?), I could understand wanting one of those for a period full set watch you are keeping.. but a clear sticker?

Agreed, how inane.

This thread has really delivered; so glad I'm watching it. Keep the responses coming.

FWIW, the stickers on the back vary; what's worst is with model number stickers is to have the wrong model number sticker so that it doesn't match the watch. I always have loved that touch. I always get the willys when trying on a watch with a corroded sticker on the back. They need Lysol treatment.

I changed a quartz watch battery for a friend. I guess the watch was around five years old and the case back sticker resembled a five year old petri dish. The surface seemed OK but the back of the sticker that faced the case back was close to developing language skills.

I cleaned it all up. My friend lamented that the sticker was missing. I couldn't understand why they would keep it on the watch, they couldn't understand why I wouldn't. What's the point in arguing? Go to eBay OP. You'll be sorted out in no time.

It must depend on the RSC.

They don’t here and if they did, the first thing I’d do is peel it off

I find it best to remove the sticker with tweezers when you first purchase the watch. Then laminate it. Reattach the sticker and seal the edges with nail varnish. To avoid unnatural "wrist patina" often referred to by amateurs as wrist gunk, you can just wrap a loop of packing tape round your wrist before you put your watch on. That way you have double sticker protection. Thats assuming youre one of those reckless weirdos that wears your watch on your wrist which exposes the timepiece to a higher risk of scuffs and scratches. I wear mine round my ankle where my socks add a further layer of protection.

You're welcome.

I believe they are just 3M film for service and sales. I use the redline stickers for bracelet touch ups as I can cut the 3M film more precise than blue painters tape. I hack these stickers up when working so I am always looking for cheap replacement stickers that don’t leave a sticky residue when removed. A watchmaker friend gave me a bunch but I am running out. The ones I posted above that were on EBay will work if they are cheap enough.

They gave you the factory green or the redline?

The only time that I have seen Rolex SA provide parts with Factory stickers after initial sale is when a brand new replacement part is provided. The only example with a case back or mid case that I could recall is when Rolex service center botched a Polish drop, when the owner specifically requested no polishing on a permit. They replaced the case and had Geneva re laser the same serial number on the case, and they gave him a new MID case with the barcode and Factory stickers.

There are companies that sell kits that can cover the whole watch and it comes with a better rear clear protector. It’s the same film they use for cell phone screen protectors and clear bras on cars. If you search google you should find kits pre cut for every model Rolex.

Similar to engraving but can much more easily be updated/changed. There isn't that commitment risk.
I'd go with my favorite sports team sticker or maybe just a peace sign

My AD removed most of the sticker on my watch. There were a few that got missed under the clasps. After wearing it daily for a month. I noticed a dirty spot, it was dirt stuck under the stickers, after I removed it, the watch was scratched up from the dirt and grime. Remove all your stickers and wear it.

I bought my first Rolex in the 80's. The green sticker on the back stayed stuck fast for quite a few years, but I was really keen to see what was behind it.

I assumed there would be an engraved "Rolex" or similar, and was really disappointed when it eventually rubbed off and there was nothing!
