For me, although your mileage may vary, it's a horrible investment.

Most people (I mean it, like 95%) don't like the DJII.
The proportions are whacky, and even Rolex ditched it in favor of the DJ41. Buy if you like it, but not for any sort of investment. IMHO. |

I love mine. I’ve had it since 2011 and have worn it in all situations. One of my favorite features is the blue lume on the arabics while the hands are green.

Actually no, the proportions are very different ! 41 indexes are slimmer and so are the cases, lugs and bezel.

Sorry, I beg to differ....95% is a little bit of an over reach...some actually prefer the DJ2 over the new 41. Maybe you should do a poll!!

It’s become/becoming a modern classic. Investment potential is simply there because it’s not produced anymore, a model that was a bit left field in its sizing. If you like it and get it for a good price then it’s a good buy. I contemplated getting rid of mine but for some reason can’t seem to let it go.

It's definitely a cool watch.
Investment? I've never found DJ's to be particularly strong 'investment' pieces, but...it's a brave new world these days, so, who knows. |

Watches are a poor investment. Buy Jewelry instead, or just plain Gold and Silver bars. That will be your best bet.

I guess I’m in the 5% but I’ve been very happy for the past 10 years with my DJII.

I disliked it so much I bought four of them and all of them are now worth more than I paid for them.

The DJII will probably be as good an investment as are most DJ. It is a Rolex and it is a true 41mm watch so the watch has wrist presence and if your wrist is larger then you may prefer this watch. The dials had larger indices than the current DJ41 which is 39mm not 41mm case. The movement in DJII is also very accurate. Prices of the watch have continued to climb as have almost all Rolex watches in the recent period. I wouldn't call it an investment but Rolex watches in general seem to be a good purchase as they seem to retain their value.
