Availability of New VTNR GMT II

Anybody had the chance to see the new VTNR GMT II in a AD or in the wild? Curious how long it normally takes for a newly announced model to get out? I put my name on the waitlist at my AD and was wondering.

The more I look at it the more it looks like a normal GMT just upside down - which is exactly what it is. Love the bezel but not sure I am enamored with the dial and cyclops on the left. I suspect when I wear it I will not even notice.

Seems there are a surprising number of leftys on these forums. I thought only about 10% of us made up the population but there seems to be lots of interest.

As we know this is the problem with the hobby. Buying for hype and the people who should be getting the watches are losing out to those who just want the watches.

Rolex made a watch to represent COVID, it turned everything backwards and watched how humanity reacted.

Who “should” be getting this watch? Only left-handed people?

If that’s the case, then only right-handed people should get regular crown-right models.

I still don’t know why it exists. There are no LHD Subs or DJ’s or DD’s, so why all of a sudden do we need a LHD GMT?

Agree - unfortunate and it will look silly on their left arm.

If these are so “Odd” and unexpected from Rolex, could it be a limited/short run? This would make sense to the 10% LH market. Maybe I’m thinking to much

I'm sorry but I really don't like it at all. It just looks completely wrong and I wouldn't wear it.
I venture to suggest that if any other manufacturer produced it, then it would be widely ridiculed....

Look on Instagram, there is more ridicule vs positive comments. First time I ever remember a Rolex sports model get this much bad press other than availability.

Where you around when the Hulk was released?

I would say that was given some pretty bad feedback as well. Most hated model for many many years I'd say. Couldnt even sell the damn things. You would see them in every AD window and on the gray market would always sell for under msrp.

Yes - but that was a bit different as it is a dial preference vs. a literal change from a right handed to a left handed watch. I guess you can say there really isn’t bad press if people are talking about it, and I am sure it will still sell, but will always have a weird stigma about it. Especially the date window, who wants it on the left arm and the cyclops is under your sleeve, would drive me nuts! Now if a left handed person wore it on the right arm, that’s fantastic.
