Dry spell ended.

It’s been a while, a few years ago, I was in super acquisition mode on Rolex watches, and established some good relationships within two dealers who supplied me with a good number of Rolexes, including quite a few very in demand SS models. I think I was a mid size whale to them. Two years ago I expressed interest in the 41mm Sub Date, and the Yellow OP and one or two others, never got a call, so last week, I decided to get something I’ve had my eye on for a while, using a grey market dealer, I purchased this bad boy;67224EEE-53FE-4E8A-AB3D-4F048A741495.jpeg

Less than a week later I got the call from my dealer, “do you want?”

April has been a good month.

Congrats! This sounds exactly like my situation - developed good relationships and actually got several pieces starting in February of last year, but I have been dry since October. I just finally got a bluesy from one of my AD's this past Saturday after expressing interest about 8 months ago. Nice to see more watches hitting peoples' wrists!

I guess the COVID related supply issues my dealer has been telling me about have been fixed.

Congrats on the Bluesy, they are so beautiful, this is the first watch that I have wanted to keep in the box and preserve as perfect, I’m fighting that urge though.

I think a few of us are in this camp of went on a buying spree and got above average allocations at an above average pace over the past few years, only to find ourselves somewhat thrown to the bottom of the pile these days (I acquired 10+ pieces from 2 ADs in the past 3yrs, mostly SS professional).

I think they realize (my guess) that I'm not looking to spend on other stuff really so why bother to throw more easy to move pieces my way. Better for them to try to hook new clients who have at least a chance to buy jewelery or other watch brands....
