Help - serial number mismatch receipt
Hi everyone,
I would like to hear from all of you on what you think the below issue is, and how much of a problem or not I am facing. Here it is: I bought a new Rolex directly from one of the most known AD's in the world about 1 year ago. No problems to date, until I was placing my watch back in it's original box today. This is what I noticed: The Serial number on my official Rolex card (and also the tag with barcode that I kept) are the same. BUT, upon reviewing my official receipt for the AD, the serial number on the receipt is TOTALLY different. I understand most of you are going to tell me to call the AD to let them know about this (which I plan on doing), but I'd first like to get an idea of why/how this could have happened, and the consequences it could have if I were to ever insure, sell/authenticate my watch - which I don't plan on doing at the moment as I purchased directly from the AD store. What could this mean? Repeating again: Serial number on my Rolex authenticity card & tag with barcode are the same, but DO NOT MATCH RECEIPT from AD. Thank you |

As long as the card and tag serial match the serial on the watch itself, you're fine. The store receipt is irrelevant really.

For peace of mind I’d check the serial number on the rehault of the watch. If all matches the card I probably wouldn’t worry about it.

The receipt is good for nothing, don’t worry about it

It’s not a serial number in the receipt - that is the stores stock number (most likely)

If the SN matches on the watch, warranty card and hang tag, I think you’re good. I wouldnt sweat the receipt.

There is no serial number on all of my receipts from my boutique/AD.
Are you sure the number on your receipt was a serial number of the watch? |

My concern is about what will be needed when I want to insure the watch. although it seems from most of my research that a receipt will most likely be asked of me to first authenticate the timepiece & having it appraised at current market value. Should be fine - thank you |
