Grail Porsche Watches?

I recently ordered a Porsche and I’m intrigued by some of the Porsche Design and Tag Porsche watches. Which references are some of the rarest or most sought after? I’d like to find one that of course appeals to me but also retains value similar to a Rolex if possible.

If only everything retained value similar to
Rolex. Congrats on the car. Any telling what you ordered and the spec?

Base 718 Cayman. Only a few options like PASM Suspension, Sport Tailpipes, and Red Seat Belts.

Beauty! I’ve had a couple base 911s and never had any regrets. Also silver is always the right choice. They just released an anniversary Porsche design watch a few months back but I believe it sold out. Did you see that one? It was pretty cool.

Why and why do you expect this is possible?

I feel like there is a lot of overlap in why and what I appreciate about Swiss timepieces and German made sports cars. I’d love to find a watch that might blend the two in one branded piece.

Take your pick from the Porsche Design watches:

Or, this TAG Heuer Special Edition:

In general, Porsche watches don‘t hold their value like Rolex Steel Sports.

If you can get one of the recent 50 years Chronograph 1 Reeditions ( Limited to 500pc), you‘ll get an iconic Porsche watch for a good price that has potential to retain some value in the long run.

But Porsche watches for sure are no investment pieces.

I wouldn't do it

I have owned 2 911's in the past, great fun and reasonable cost of ownership due to low depreciation. But a watch is more permanent, if you sell or trade the P it will be a bit of an orphaned timepiece. My steer would be go for a nice timepiece that is agnostic to any car brand. Also, and I hesitate to say this - there is a bit of a stigma around Porsche sports cars and a P watch may exacerbate this issue - your choice but just offering my perspective through experience.
