More photo's, 330ci!!

PS. I think a separate cycle, forum section, might be quite popular.

Riding has been a huge part of my recovery from lumbar discitis. I’ve found that when my back hurts, the best thing I can do is go out for a ride.

Its a pretty good cure all, I got into cycling because I was 50 lbs overweight after being bedridden after shattering my T1 during a manic episode in Mar of 2020, I started cycling in September after I had reached 200 pounds. I just wanted to drop weight to help with the pain, but the muscle support has been an exceptional bonus.

Then it helps me appreciate life more. Its been a great outlet for my depression, has given me goals to aspire to, a new hobby in collecting and learning all the historical and technological aspects throughout the years. I never realized how exciting it all was and how much is invested in cycling infrastructure worldwide, but after diving into the sport I find it completely infatuateing .

I too think the forum could benefit from a cycling sub forum, but better yet a "health and wellness" subforum would be pretty cool.

Bas (searchart) is an ultra marathoner, Paul is pretty active on his treadmill and I remember reading through everyone talking about their goals and regiment there.
I know a fair amount of members who have overcome addictions and have encouraged others to taper or abstain as well. I know I've received a fair amount of support when discussing some of the stuff I've been through. Theres definitely some really great people here and I think it would be good for the community in general. Not too many places I've come across where these topics are discussed.

I started my day off with a 100k ride, half was gravel, half road, had a 3 man group for the first half and soloed the back half. What a miserable ride lol the Dogma is not a good gravel bike. Managed to make it into my shop to get a few hours of work done after as well to boot though, so it was a rather productive Sunday.

Also... Cage pedals FTW & non aero shirts, and a camelback Mule with 100 oz of water, a tool kit, pump, tube, patch kit, snacks, etc... probably weighs about as much as the bike lol people get so pissed at the crits I'm not using a clipless system

So, my son’s gravel frame set is finally finished. It’s hard to find the level frames he needs in the size he needs, so we have to have them custom made. We’ve been working with the same frame builder throughout his racing. The guy does good work (but certainly not fast work).

I'm jealous, what a beautiful frame. I love that curve in the top tube. Reminds me of an old trials bike.. I Can't wait to see it all decked out.
This thing just gets cooler the more I look at it, I love the old school seattube (reminds me of my swiss cross prototype with binder bolts)with all the modern frame flourishes(TA skewers, tapered headtube, etc.) Kudos for being such an awesome dad. I was pretty stoked when my dad bought me a $100 mongoose from Walmart for Christmas when I was 8 lol
What kinda tubing is it built up with?
After hearing how long most of my friends have been waiting on new framesets and bikes the past year and a half though custom wait times might not be as obnoxious as it seems.

The frame, C-T is 37cm. We put the curve in the top tube to get a little more standover as my boy is short, even for his age. That frame is meant to hold 700c wheels.

We used Columbus SLX tubing. With a lot of “custom” framebuilders, you still have limitations as to what they choose to work with. I sit down with Stephen from Plante Cycles and we make these frames exactly how we need them. Real accommodating. Anyway, the compliance of steel really is great for gravel riding.

I'm not into 'pushbikes' much, and don't know a lot about them, but that is very easy on the eye.

Looking forward to watching The Tour. Copenhagen, start, should be interesting.

I love how everything looks so proportionate then you see the headtube and realize how small that bike is. HT badge is cool as hell, too.

You’re a good dad/ y’all are good parents.

How do you like the internal gear hub? I’ve never ridden one.

I've got five of them and ridden them 30000km in 2 years. So I guess you could say I am am fan.

The Rohloff, though more expensive far outperforms the Alfine. Coupled with a gates belt it is problem free and long lasting.

Love that! I have considered the Rolof for a city bike build for years.

you guys will appreciate this. I don't know what the final tally was for the weekend, but between Friday and Saturday at Tulsa Tough, there were 4 - 6 fractured vertebrae (2 women), 1 broken nose + knocked out tooth (1 woman), and lots of skin left behind. And the unfortunate incident with the fellow that walked on course during the Mens 1/2 race.

We escaped relatively unscathed. One of my riders did snap her bar. Made for a long night.

Overall, the hardest race weekend I've ever worked.

Thanks, Joey and Jason. It's a custom polished Reynolds 953 stainless steel 61cm (C-T) frame I had built by Waterford Precision Cycles in 2006. The framebuilder was Dave Wages who left Waterford and started Ellis Cycles soon after my frame was delivered. I've put around 15k miles on it. Weight, ready to ride, is a hair over 20 pounds. Components are 10-S Campagnolo Record.

Stan,

Steel is real but stainless steel is a stunner!! BTW, that frame would fit me perfectly.

Dan, I guess that means we're pretty much the same size.
The geometry was based on my chrome plated 1972 P15-9 touring Schwinn Paramount, but with a few tweaks. It also weighs about 7 pounds less than the Paramount.

They weren't actually. Seems they've got some competition now. Missed the podium Sat and Sun. There was an incident following the W race Sunday that might have affected the men, though.

Yes indeed. Love the PDG Series Paramounts.
Dad spent most of his working career as a regional sales manager for Arnold, Schwinn & Company (and later, Schwinn Bicycle Company}.

Glad to hear that. It’s good not to know the outcome of a race before it starts.
