DateJust Solid Gold Bracelet

Hello All,

Newbie here, first Rolex, first post. Thanks for having me, looks like a great bunch of folks here! I recently purchased a 1982 DateJust 36 with Jubilee bracelet. Thinking about purchasing a couple different bands for it, just to change things up from time to time. My questions are, will a solid gold DayDate President bracelet fit the DateJust? If not, is there a solid gold bracelet available for the vintage DateJust? How can I fit a solid gold bracelet on a DateJust? Looks like it's fairly easy to find a leather band for it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, any solid gold bracelet for a Day Date will fit the DJ from the same era.

They run around $25,000.00

Does anybody know if a 55B end link will fit on a 16013 DateJust?

DateJust Solid Gold Bracelet

If you’re still looking at a gold President bracelet, with solid end links like this:

Then the answer is the fit will be poor for a couple of reasons.

That endlink is designed for “no holes” lugs like on an 18238. There will be some slight case height issues due to the thinner 16013 case and lugs.

Lastly, the springbars should be 18k gold for a President bracelet end link. While people have used the steel ones for a 16013 on their Day-Date, the harder steel can cause looseness as the diameter is different.

Even if it does, it wouldn't feel right in the traditional sense. President = Day Date. Jubilee/Oyster = DateJust

Come on, don't be a party pooper. I'm dying to see the OP buy a solid gold president bracelet for a DJ.

Thanks for the insight. Like I mentioned above, I'm a newbie here and still learning. I agree with you, it would not feel right. Thanks again.

Thanks Crowncollection and MossicPa, I didn't know that. That gold Jubilee looks gorgeous. I now agree with Zapokee, it just would not feel right with a Presidents on a DJ. Thanks again Guys.

A solid gold president bracelet will not fit on a 1982 2-tone Datejust. The case shape is different. Look at the area between the lugs. On the Datejust it is completely round, on the Day-Date it is more straight across.

It will fit on a solid gold 16238 or a 16018 Datejust.

Good luck in the search, I do not believe the solid gold DJ was a popular model so there are not a lot of solid gold jubilee bands out there. For the price point most people would just opt for the Day-Date.

True, but the OP has already bought the DateJust and is looking for a bracelet for it.

Vintage gold bracelets are pretty hard to find in good condition. Often they're parted out and sold link by link, as dealers can get more for them that way. Rolex will supply a new one, but you'll have to get your wallet out...

Alternatively, simply spend 100 bucks on a nice croc or Horween Cordovan Shell leather strap. Just as nice as a bracelet, although a wholly different experience.

Or, sell the DateJust, save a few pennies, and step up to a Day Date on a President bracelet. Even better if white gold.

The 55b end link will not work on a Datejust case, wrong profile and thickness. I believe the earlier 53B will fit a datejust case but wont be a perfect fit but will at least mount up. The 53b came on the bracelets for the 1803s but usually had a clasp and not a hidden clasp. Only the Jubilee gold bracelets are made specifically for the datejusts.
