Newbie with Datejust Problem -Crown won't screw close!!
Hey guys,
First off, I want to thank you for taking a look at post. Yesterday, after changing the date the on my Datejust, the crown would not screw close. I don't know what happened, but the spring-mechanism that drives the crown became rather tight -pushing the crown in required a little muscle. It refuses to screw close. I am certain that I have to take it to a jeweler, and I was wondering how much would an repair like this cost and if anyone had any suggestions on where I can take it in NYC area. I have posted two pictures below, one with the crown in the first position, and the second is of the crown in the last position. Again, thank you for your input, and taking a look at my post. |

been there, done that... this happens to me before, you have to open the back and pull out the crown puching a little buttom that has to release, then put it back again, if you cant put it back, there is the problem, you will have to take it to a AD or a watchmaker

you would need a new tube and crown. always have them put on in pairs you don't want to ruin the new crown with a stripped tube, and cross thread it.Rik the watchmaker
