What do you think about the condition

Folks,

What do you think about the condition of this watch?

I am debating if I should keep it or move it along for a better example.

I really like the watch (bluesy) and is probably my favorite looking watch. Just trying to see if I al good enough with the condition of this one.

Thank you

The stretch on the bracelet is not so bad TBH.

I guess my main issue is knowing it has been polished.

I do not mind polish on a watch if done correctly but others feel that unpolished is the only way to go. The watch does not look bad from the couple of pictures shown above.

Yeah, I mean I know the history of the watch and that the condition is overall good, and was polished once. I can’t shake the thought that it was polished. It is not so easy to find a good example from a source that I trust so I am thinking about being a bit more flexible with this one and accept the polishing. Usually I do not consider polished examples.

If you’re going to wear it, I say go for it, if all else is in order. You’ll add your own wear and tear soon enough. As always, YMMV.

Just food for thought... I assume you knew it was polished when you bought it and I know for a fact there are many great watches out there that have had a polish or two... from Rolex or not. Do you trade in your car if you have to change out a windshield from a rock crack? Do you throw away your sneakers when they touch mud, or clean them off? What about a $85,000 Lexus with only 18,000 miles on it, should I trade it off because I got bumped at 5mph and they had to repaint the bumper cover? Enjoy wearing the watch, and don't sweat it.

The vast majority of second hand watches for sale are polished or touched up one way or the other. Nobody buys a scratched watch.

A professional polish done by the RSC makes a watch looks good. The problem starts when a regular jeweler or amateur does it.

As said above is very likely that many of the watches claimed to be “unpolished” in reality have been polished by RSC or by a good watchmen. I have even seen pictures of watches that have been completely refurbished (laser welding) and then are artificially scratched to be claimed as “unpolished”.

Any Rolex watch can withstand several polish jobs without any real damage to appearance or spec tolerances if done right. Point is would take with a grain of salt every time someone claims a watch to be “unpolished” as May or May not be true.

I think those lugs look great. I'd take that over a beat up watch that has never been polished. Especially something as common as a TT Sub.

If anyone is that close to your watch other then you, then you have another (more pressing) set of issues. Looks fine, polished or otherwise.
