+1. Totally agree. Personally, my Apple Watch would make the trip. Enjoy your cruise.

Safest place to wear a watch is on a cruise. If someone tries to steal it where will they go?

All those who claim room safes are safe are simply just people who have never been targeted.
If someone does decide they want to get in your room safe, it is very easy.

In summary, room safes are not going to keep anyone out that wants in.

I have been cruising for the last 25 years extensively.
Primarily on RC and for the last 10 years or so on Celebrity.
Wife and I take jewelry and multiple high end watches.
Have never, ever had a problem.
In fact, many times my wife has left items out in the open.
Can it happen? Anything can. They are insured and we will enjoy them.

Just finished a Disney cruise and took 3 watches. PAM104, BB58 and a Datejust for more formal. Kept in room safe, no issues.

Will be on celebrity 2x this year and will bring 3 to each!

Agree about Grand Seiko. Last trip I took I wore that the entire time and never took it off. It’s under the radar enough that nobody knows what it is and it doesn’t look enough like a Rolex to trigger those thieves.

True. Even with room auditing with keys, businesses seem (from recent threads here) to go the insurance claim route than going through the rigor of investigation and firing an employee. It’s probably cheaper and doesn’t have the customer’s interest in mind… Sad.

I’d rather just avoid potential issues on/off the boat and wear something more understated all the time.

On a cruise, watch safety is the least of your worries.

I work in infectious diseases and traveling on cruise ships is not something I'd do voluntarily.

I always have multiple watches on cruises with me. Tend to feel the safest onboard & will typically wear an Apple Watch or Garmin onshore.

we used to build houses and fight wars, i cannot believe what i'm reading right now. Cruises are legit one of the safest vacations you can take. I bring my watches with me and jewelry and leave them in the safe while at port or while at the pool. You lot are so paranoid. Just make sure you lock your safe and you'll be good, a lot of fear mongering in this thread. Wearing outside is another thing, I wouldn't recommend.

What you wear on your excursions may depend on the port and recommendations there.

Your Dweller isn't going to stand out any more than anybody else's there.
Yes, well said. Just came off a Regent cruise. Felt comfortable leaving valuables in room safe; did not wear our Rolex on S America and Central America excursions. Did visit a Rolex AD in Cabo and had a welcoming and friendly Rolex discussion.

I would take only one watch which you will not take off or leave anywhere on your trip. If you have concerns wear something cheaper than a Rolex. Forget watch worries and just enjoy the cruise.

Watch on a cruise

Went on cruise on X-mas week on Royal Carribean. Brought my ss Daytona. No issues. Never took it off even in the shower. Saw another ss Daytona white dial on the ship.

You do you. I wouldn’t take more than one, which would never leave my wrist. If you don’t think your watch is safe on your wrist ashore, just stay onboard.
