F1 season wraps this weekend
I think Alonso has it sewn up. He'd lose the crown only if he failed to finish (or didn't finish in the points) and MS scored more than two points.
It should be an interesting race. I'm intrigued to see how Schushmucker will end his career.... fighting to the end with possibly a final 'chop' in a desperate attempt to force his rival off the track and win again by cheating or will he bow out gracefully? One thing is certain, I look forward to F1 without schuschmucker where we won't see a single driver cheat his way to championships. |

Well, I wouldn't put it past the scumbag. Betting odds are that he'll get his stoolie to knock Alonso off the track and then go for the win himself.
Well, one more race and that's it - there was never any more good riddance to bad rubbish. In any case, he's already been whupped by the youngest champ ever, and he'll be remembered for Adelaide, Jerez and Austria, which outweighs the championships that Mad Max Mosley manufactured for him.

Schumacher winning lots of races definitely kept F1 a little ho-hum. However with the overhall of the F1 rules, it definitely put everybody on the level playing field especially for the rich teams.

Don't kid yourself... there is no level playing field in F1. The teams with the bigger budgets will always be on a different plane, regardless of what rule changes are made to 'keep things equal'. |

You may hate me for this, but so be it....
I hope Alonso crashes & burns.... go Schumacher! Not to take away from the fact that Alonso is a fantastic driver and great sportsman, but hey, the heart wants what it wants.

I don't think it is over yet, but I really hope Alonzo can take care of business this weekend. Thank god his slump, and it was a slump is over.
I also agree with John that F1 will never be a level playing field, the haves and have nots will always be the case. Good riddance to the arrogant jackass too, I hope his engine blows again, especially since F1 will probably try to crook him the win, like they have in the past.

Hopefully I'm wrong but if any of the above happens, I will strongly consider not watching F1 again (after being an ardent fan for 36 years) until Mosley and Ecclestone leave the sport for good. |

Well, Fernando had better look out for the Midland cars when he laps them. Mathematically speaking, Ferrari need both cars to do well if they want to take the constructor's championship, so they're going to have to count on their B-squad (Midland will become Spyker and receive Ferrari engines next year) to take Alonso out.

Daren, the worst is a realistic expectation from the likes of Scum, Todt and Brawn. I wouldn't be surprised at any depth they'd stoop to.

In Q3 shumi seems to be having transmission problems. I could cry, but I won't.

A reasonably clean race and a storming drive from MS...
I was forced to watch the Speed Channel coverage due to time constraints but OMG talk about gushing over MS, particularly after the race. You'd be hard pressed to realize that Alonso won the WC. |
