16610 - 14270 ?
I have a M series 16610 sub and want to buy a early 14270 . Unlike the early 90's sub the early 90's exp's don't seem to have the lume color change that the subs do.
Given they are both tritium and same age, why is the lume color so different ? Thanks Chris Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk |

I'm also a fan of yellowed tritium, so I pay attention to this as well.
IMO, it's a crapshoot, but I haven't noticed any real difference by model. If you save photos of 50 early 90s Subs and 50 early 90s Explorers, I suspect you will find that, in both cases, most haven't aged significantly.

On the Subs I see a lot of 1991 or N serials with more patina. I am not sure if that holds true to the explorer or there are just a lot more subs out there so we see it more often.

I haven’t seen too many (just one that was sold) with patina on the lines for the Explorer I. Maybe it just hasn’t been as many decades long as old subs have?

You likely already know this, but wanted to point out that the numbers aren’t actually lumed, so they remain relatively white compared to the hands and other indices.
