too much crime going on here to feel comfortable wearing something like that but as far as finance goes, it's mostly because i'm young and there's a clear food chain and culture there, so wearing a day date as someone in your 20s/early 30s will give the wrong impression to people (luckily i don't work in that industry anymore). anyway, don't wanna derail the thread any more lol

to the OP - i don't think anyone actually regrets buying a day date. i love wearing it when i do, and it's a great watch to wear with everything. i think you should go for it

Why do you wish that. I have been thinking I should have gone 40mm on at least one of mine. I have a Plat 36 and a YG 36.

I wear a SD 4K and 42 mm Speedmaster on a regular basis and often wear several other pieces which are 44 mm. I couldn't imagine wearing a 36 mm DD, I have a 36 DJ which I never wear anymore but it was my first Rolex so I won't sell it.
SD4k is beautiful. What a gorgeous watch! Best Rolex sports watch!

That statement right there makes me wonder if the DD is a good fit for you. Along my journey, I've learned, painfully I might add, that the only watches that make it into my collection are the ones that could, without a doubt, serve as my only watch...if it ever came to that.

Personally, I would hold off until you're more sure one way or the other. My two cents.

Get the DD. Who cares how old you are or how you dress? It's just a shame you waited this long.

Does the DD get enough wrist time for you?

I’m torn on DD or YG sub.

I'd say it gets a fair amount of wrist time, but I definitely reserve it for dinners/events etc.
I work from home so during the week I usually have an old sub on or YM on oyster flex since they're both so comfortable.
I've definitely worn the DD around the house, but in the back of my mind I know it's there and don't want to bang it when throwing a dog toy or reaching into a mailbox etc etc

40mm might look weird sometimes. The 36 is nice but dial options being different, you’re often stuck with a size you’d rather not buy. :(

Only issue with the DD is once you get used to it, very few watches satisfy the same way.

Man it’s so true - I’ve got some really nice watches in the collection no doubt, but the daydates are just in a league of their own

That's the reason Rolex called it "The Presidential"
