I never really liked the Mk1 green hue, it just seemed murky and nondescript. Imho if you're going to use a colour other than black it needs to have some impact and catch the eye, otherwise what's the point?

I much prefer the Mk2 and am now actually looking forward to getting one this year

In the real world if there’s two very distinct variations that coincide with a very specific point in time, that means there are two versions. Yes, of course there could be many very slight color variations. There could be 1000 different color variations, yet there are still only two that are identifiable.

You don’t have to like it, but to repeatedly imply this is a batch to batch situation is non sensical.

Mk II all the way. Looks more like the original Kermit.

Funny the MK1 bezel is the exact same shade as the Hulk but no one hates that green. Lol

I agree and disagree.

In the case of the LV I believe we’ve had some sort of statement from Rolex confirming a color change … I could be wrong about that….

In the case of the BLRO there was no stated color change that I know of and yet we must be up to MK6 by now. In fact some of the new releases look just like the originals, so we appear to have come full circle.

I tend to agree with Peter that the colors of ceramic bezels vary batch to batch, but the LV may have changed by design as Rolex has been firing green bezels for a good long while without many variations

I prefer the original tone. It does not have as harsh a contrast with the dial as the new one. My preference is a black bezel over either green bezel.

Yes I am.

I said that I believe we’ve heard that Rolex has confirmed the new green color as an anniversary reissue … if so, that would be by design.

May have means there’s room for doubt. There is no room for doubt at this point. No Rolex statement required. Anyone who still thinks that Rolex has not intentionally created a MKII bezel for the 12LV is struggling with reality.

You seem triggered.

I said

“In the case of the LV I believe we’ve had some sort of statement from Rolex confirming a color change … I could be wrong about that….”

I went on to say that Rolex has been making green bezels for along time.

In my opinion it would be odd for the color to suddenly change that drastically.

I agree they are two different colors.

Better now?

Yeah, not triggered just wondering why anyone would say “may have changed by design” as it’s blatantly obvious it has been.

Glad you’re not saying that and you were just unclear in your statement. No need to get Internet mad at me.

This was certainly an intentional change and not a batch variance. I refuse to believe that rolex would be THAT bad at quality control and allow such a drastic difference in bezel colour, even if firing the ceramic would procure a different result with different batches. These are not cheap watches, but even most less expensive brands would not put out a product with such drastic colour deviations...

Design wise, I’d compare it to a 996 instead of a 993

Case closed..

Thanks for posting OP..

I love the MKI, I was hoping to get one at retail, but that won;t happen now.

Oh well, even though I'm pretty sure I prefer the MKI over the new one, I will still be happty as can be to be called for the new hued LV.

2023 model. Will be in my hands next week. Sure looks the same to me…. I have no care either way if it has or hasn’t changed. But I am skeptical and will get to see for myself in a few days. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I like the MK2 green and would love to get one.

Currently have an expression down for the 126610LN. But just out of curiosity, anyone know what the availability is like comparing the LV and LN? Do ADs get similar allocations of each color or do LVs come in lesser quantities?

My understanding is the LV more difficult to get than the LN but not as scarce as a modern ss gmt. I wonder too if demand is low because many, like I was, are unsure about the green.

And then you see it….

I am 100% in the MK1 camp. I think it resembles The Master's epic shade of green.
