Patek 5034 vs officer 3960

Hey trying to decide between these two watches: calatrava travel time 5034 or calatrava officer 3960 (purely on aesthetic considerations and maybe financial appreciation). I prefer a watch that looks more contemporary and not to dressy. Which one do you prefer? Which one you think is more appropriate for someone in their 30s.

Both are great, classic Patek pieces - I lean a little more toward the 3960 for its enamel dial, but there is no bad decision on these two, whichever you choose@

If you want contemporary, consider a 5134.

3960, Its an anniversary watch and has the hunter case back. I had one for a while but found it too small for my wrist.

They both have a bit of an "older gentleman" design, although the 3960 is less so and simply more classic. The 5034 is near-baroque.

The bezel on the 5034 and the same bezel on any other Patek has always been a turn-off to me. Frankly, the 5034 looks like a ladies' watch to me, so unless this is for a woman, it would be a big no-go.

There are other Calatrava designs that are more modern yet still classic that would better befit someone in his 30s.

In this size range, consider the 5096.

The 3960 for me. Much cleaner, less feminine looking watch. Love the Breguet numerals on this very elegant dial.

Consider another 2000's Calatrava Travel Time, 5134. Some with Breguet and some in indices.

Thanks! 3960 it is then. Aesthetically i am not a fan of modern calatravas.

3960 is definitely a classic manual-wind Calatrava. Although it was produced in limited numbers, it is hard to say if there will be long-term price appreciation with a YG classic Calatrava.
