Daytona 2022 bimetal

This might be a strange question.

I ordered a a blackface bimetal Daytona in May last year 2022 from a AD.

I got the watch brand new Jan 2023 from the same dealer and it’s a 2022 model.

Is this correct.

Yes 2022 ones are still being delivered. The new 2023 daytona models have not been delivered to ADs yet from what i understand and may start trickling in in the fall.

Daytona 2022 bimetal

I’m not sure what you mean by 2022 model. The new Daytonas weren’t announced until two months after you bought your watch. Watches and Wonders late March 2023. And they still haven’t hit ADs for sale yet either.

It also helps not to think of watches like cars when it comes to models by year. Doesn’t work like that in the Rolex world.

Yes I’ve seen this watch has shown up at ADs but not any of the W&W 2023 releases have been sold yet.
