My Daytona has been in the shop waiting for a part. Luckily my father had an old DB5 so I’m prepared for whatever the bill may be.

I can understand not giving you your parts back if it was a warranty issue but keeping a gold bezel or any other parts out of warranty has always rubbed me wrong. I own those parts and am paying to replace them with a second set of parts. I should be able to keep those parts as a verification said parts was actually replaced with new ones.

Could you imagine Porsche or Ferrari keeping your original wheels or exhaust if you also paid for a second set after the sale???

I declined a $3200 estimate from RSC Lititz, PA on a 1601.

They said corrosion in the case.

My mom had a $1k bill from RSC over 20 years ago if I'm not mistaken from a time perspective! This was for her 2-tone lady's datejust (no calendar) that she paid less than $1k for.

In reality not bad. She never serviced the watch since she had purchased it in the early/mid-80s. Had to send it in for service because she broke the crystal playing Mah Jong (must have been an intense game!). So no crystal, full service, and had to replace the "tube" or something -- again if I recall correctly.

Good to know. I feel like I got a pretty decent deal then on my twice-broken 124270.

First time, shattered crystal plus dial damage. RSC did a full service and replaced the crystal. Price was only about $180 for the new crystal, and service was free.

Second time, same problem, shattered crystal plus more dial damage and scratching on highly-polished hands. This time, price was just north of $1,000. Full service plus new crystal. Seemed reasonable to me.
