Bluetooth Headphones for Running

I need to replace my AirPods Pros. I use them to stream music from my Apple watch when I run. They have had trouble since the beginning, on and off, and now one of the EarPods has a bit of the metal ring missing and won’t charge. They are $90 to repair/replace the piece. These things have been finicky since the beginning and are not worth throwing any more money their way.

I don’t need headphones that will allow me to hear subtle sonic differences. These are to stream fun tunes while not completely blocking out ambient noise, so as to avoid being run over if on the street. I just would like budget friendly, dependable headphones that will connect via bluetooth.

Any recommendations?

I rely on mine when running and cycling and need them to stay in place. The Airpods would always bounce out when sweaty no matter which tips I had.

The best fitting for me are the Beats Fit Pro. Expensive but they have never once fallen out.

I had the same issue, so would wear a headband on top of my EarPods and then a baseball hat so as to not look like Zoolander.

I am not too keen on spending another $200 on Apple headphones, so no Beats for me. TBH, I don't need the fidelity they would offer when I'm running on a breezy beach or on the side of a road.

Bluetooth Headphones for Running

I have the new AirPods Pro. I use them when bike riding. I guess I lucked out because they never fall out and work great. Transparency mode is great for bike riding. You can more easily hear the traffic around you, so that’s a nice safety feature. Noise cancellation mode is great when on a plane.

One thing though, they are a little uncomfortable after a couple hours on a plane. I have an old pair of Bose (non Bluetooth) ear plugs that are much more comfortable that I still use too. They sound great, but lack the transparency and noise cancellation modes. Also, they are so old, that I need a special jack for them as well. But they’re still nice as a backup option. I bring both when traveling, but the AirPods are #1, the Bose are #2.

My son gave me a set of these. I don't run but use them while walking and on my bike. I love them.

I would not use EarPods while on my bike. I couldn't hear cars coming up on me. With these I can hear everything around me and the audio is very good.

Jabra… check them on Amazon. Look for sweat and dust proof. I have a pair and have had them for 2+ years… workout, golf, everything else I do I can get away with wearing earbuds.

From my experience, well, mostly my sons, Beats don’t hold up to real use. I mention them because they seem to be all over the Jabra searches in Amazon.

Shokz (aka aftershocks) open run pro. They're fantastic.

I don't know how you ran with AirPods in? I can't hear anything around me with those.

I use the open run pros also. The whole bone conduction technology is truly amazing.

Thank you all. I ended up getting these, which were recommended by a friend of mine:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNNMYSGQ...t_details&th=1

$60 and so far, so good. They fit my ears well, so I didn't need a headband to keep in while running. In "normal" mode, I could hear road traffic fine. "Isolation" or "noise cancellation" or whatever they call it seems like it will be good for flights. If they last, they will be perfect. Sound is certainly good enough for running, so even if fidelity was better on the EarPods Pros, I don't really care.

Next time I will look for bone conduction, but this ended up being a cheap, easy solution and seems to fit the bill so far. Thanks again for the ideas.

I used to run with the non-noise cancelling earpods, but have stopped using any kind of music/podcasts during running, even on long runs like marathon distance.
