Leaning toward a Rolex for a gift is a pain in the ass if you plan on giving the gift any time in the next 18 months. If you are set on picking out a watch that she hasn’t seen and giving it as a gift, I would recommend a BB 31 with a light champagne dial and diamond indices. It’s a beautiful watch.

I agree with this. If I got a Tudor for my wife or daughter (daughter is 26) they would appreciate it but wish it was a Rolex. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it is true in my case.

Having said that, pre-owned ladies DateJusts, OPs, etc can be found at reasonable prices.

The tudors 1926 seem like a pretty sweet gift.

What is your Tudor pick for a woman in her early 30s?

And she gets diamond on the wrist!

90s Rolex is a joke compared to modern Tudor

My wife has several Rolexes, it this Tudor is one of her favorites…I agree with others though, unless she has expressed an interest in something, I would let her choose…

I gifted my wife a Tudor lady-sub from the 90s last year! Very cool! Hope Tudor will come up with a new lady"sub" - maybe a lady Pelagos?!

Thoughtful of you to want to surprise someone. If you have a sense of the person’s style and taste, you could probably get something that will be well received.

I’ve known a few ADs that will allow you to purchase, but not size or take the stickers off in case she wants to exchange it. Might be more applicable with Tudor than Rolex, but worth asking perhaps.

Understandable that most here would recommend letting the the receiver pick out their gift, if I apply the situation to myself (and maybe others who enjoy this hobby), we’re so particular and often have something specific in mind that a gift to us might not be exactly what we want. I don’t know that the general public and non-enthusiasts would feel the same way, though, and instead might be extremely delighted with such a thoughtful gift and surprise (assuming it’s in their zone of preference).

Good luck, and let us know what direction you go.

Got my wife a BB36, silver dial. It was her first non-quartz. Went with silver dial, because it's visually appealing and pairs well with anything. Non-date meant easier setting/ less fuss. Figured I knew her well enough to not worry about whether she'd like it.

FWIW - also had the warranty card dated a specific date (which was about a month after I actually picked up the watch). Didn't think the SA would be down for that, but she was.

Let her choose but still surprise her. My wife's 30th is coming up in December. I was 100% set on giving her a DJ on Jubilee - Turns out she had other ideas! Fell in love with the 36mm EXP when I was "looking" at watches for me - Luckily, I was able to secure it 3 months before the big day.

I think 36mm exp looks great on both men and ladies
