I think people have no choice but to search for resale of a limited edition they like. But hey, the hunt is part of the thrill and hobby after all :) Sent from my SM-S908W using Tapatalk |

Actually I wouldn't put it past them, it's kind of their brand strategy to a T. Make the watch that everyone would love and blow way too much money on, but as a one-of-a-kind for ONLY WATCH.

The Swatch/Blancpain collab is a plastic fun mechanical if you can get one. About the serious divers, I’ve always liked the 50 fathoms but question their pricing points. The new gold/bronze 50 fathoms vintage which I like goes for over 32k. A that price I’d go for an A Lange & Sohn Saxonia in rose gold and still save money.

Just wanted to report back in that I still hate this release. That’s all, carry on.

Hate is such a strong word Easy E. This new release is perfect for those who put desire over common sense. jmho.

In speaking with an AD yesterday about another watch, this came up. I asked how many calls they have had - he said “not a single call.” I said, man, that’s weird. He laughed.

After finally getting a chance to try the Act 3 I'm going to take back my earlier aversion to this watch. It is very nice and felt so good on the wrist. Not on the supplied NATO but on the sail cloth and rubber strap it was amazing. There's a vintage vibe that makes it look and wear like none of the other FFs I've owned or tried, including many of the LEs.
So I almost pulled the trigger but my rational side won out. Despite a nice discount and extra goodies thrown in I still couldn't do it. Interested to hear if any members have picked one up and have some wearing impressions to share. |

I have the MilSpec (Hodinkee) which is incredible, but I honestly think the new 42.3mm case size is likely spot on for the FF (I haven’t tried it yet). The FF wears smaller than its specs suggest. The 40mm wears a bit small for my 7.25” wrist. |

I'm absolutely craving the MilSpec Hodinkee. I went to the Zurich Boutique last week to try on the new 42 models but I must say that I still find them a tad too big for my wrist (approx. 7 inch).

The Act 3 comes in a different case size, 41.3 mm. Allegedly this will be the case dimension for the future limited editions of Blancpain. |

Are act 3's still available then? I assumed they had all sold out a long time ago.

The design of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 3 was inspired by the famous (original) MIL-SPEC.
Both cases look very similar in form and dimensions. Therefore, and to find the lug-to-lug distance of the Act 3, I searched for the MIL-SPEC case dimensions, compared it with the Act 3, and compiled the numbers in the table below. |

@saxo3: Oh thank you for making this comparison! This means it wears really big for a 41mm watch unfortunately…
