Choose one GMT: CHNR or SKY-DWELLER
At AD yesterday, I was told if I ask for CHNR will get one in one month. Acquisition time frame for Sky-dweller (SS white dial jubilee) is hard to pin down as they don’t receive very many, and green and blue dials are VERY tough.
Curious what everyone’s thoughts are about these two watches if one had to choose between one or the other? I kind of like them both, the RB definitely seems a little more overstated, but that’s OK. I still like it. 7.25” wrist, SD fits just fine. I wear anything from plain old casual to biz attire. Honestly, I don’t think that ever mattered to me anyway, I would wear whatever watch I wanted regardless of the way I’m dressed. I just don’t hear that much about SD as opposed to CHNR I am only able to purchase one. Anyone care to compare and contrast between these two? |

They are totally different watches. Do you own any other pieces? How would either fit in? Do you like one more than the other?
All things being equal, I give a nod to the SkyDweller, fantastic watch. |

Looking for GMT at this point. Like everyone else, I would love a BLRO, but that’s probably not going to happen. I am not interested in “dress” watches. I just don’t know much about the sky-dweller other than what I saw at the AD and what I’ve seen on YouTube. CHNR looks like it gets beat up easily. This would be daily or at least 1/2 the week. Thanks |

Have both, very different FUNction and fit. Imho the SkyD is brilliant in design and operation. Also will be 'universally' fitting for virtually any outfit / situation. Added benefit, with the SkyD you can get both the Oyster and Jubilee bracelets.

I was just debating this with myself recently as well. The sky dweller is beautiful, functional, and fits well with formal attire, although it’s clear that ANY Rolex works with formal wear…

I love the movement of the skyd, but it’s too thick of a watch. At 42mm it’s also on the bigger side. For a 7.25” wrist, I’d go with the chnr.
From a design side, these are two completely different watches. Skyd is a lot more dressy (especially if you get it on jubilee). Two tone is something you have to like with the chnr, I think it’s one of the few two tone that I like. |

CHNR wears alot more comfortable on a daily basis.....I think Sky-Dweller is a bit too thick for my taste unless you really need that annual calendar complication

CHNR. I tried on a black Skydweller and those watches are chunky.

Your money, your watch...
Make up your mind on which you like most and want. What we think is irrelevant

Buy what you like. I'd go with the SkyDweller

Both are fantastic watches. Both are also very different.
If you have the opportunity, I'd suggest you try them on. That will tell you which you visually like better, but also which wears better on your wrist. The SkyDweller will certainly wear larger and heavier than the CHNR GMT. To some, that is fine. To others, it's a dealbreaker. It sounds like you are looking at the SS SkyD, which will likely have more flexibility as a daily. It can dress up or down. SS does tend to show fewer marks, as a daily than any form of gold. SkyD does have the fluted bezel, which gives it some bling. The CHNR will wear better for the average sized wrist. Many love the GMT function at the core. While the CHNR does have the rose gold, it is not as 'in your face' as other gold watches (two tone or full gold). It definitely has some flash to it due to the gold PCLs, but also flies under the radar a bit as well. You could daily it, for sure. Gold is softer, so will see more scratches than SS. The CHRN ceramic bezel is not as "blingy" as the fluted bezel on the SkyD. --------- I own the CHNR. It is a beautiful watch! Much better in person, than photos. While it doesn't get as much wrist time as my full SS watches, it definitely feels a level up in class/luxury when I put it on. Just a beautiful watch overall if you like the style and colors. With that said, my next watch will be a SkyDweller. I love the white and black dials, but have a few watches with those dial colors. As such, I'm after a blue dial SkyD ideally on jubilee. That would be my first watch on jubilee with a fluted bezel, adding variety to my watches. However, SkyD blue has proven to be a tough ask from any AD. I may end up going gray, if prices lower much more. I'm just not confident the ADs will come through. :/ Good luck with your choice! Both are awesome! Follow your gut! |

Just don’t like the aesthetics of the SkyD at all though complication is smart. Has old man retirement watch vibes. CHNR would by my choice of the two.

If I'm collecting it's an easy choice because I would have both in the long term. If it's a one-and-done I'd have a Sky Dweller. The TT CHNR is a visually sophisticated watch which to my eye works much better aesthetically when you meet it in person. What can I say about the Sky Dweller? It's a Sky Dweller! If it can be worn comfortably it's no contest - for me. You do you.

The Sky-Dweller hands down for me. Not a RG fan nor am I a fan of TT. The Sky-Dweller can be both sporty and dressy depending on what you choose to wear. I own the SS Blue/White/Black and the YG Sky-Dwellers. I passed on the SS Sky-Dweller in Green last week. Might circle back around.

Both are great timepieces, I have both of them and love them equally.
If I were you, I would pick the one that becomes available to you first.

Tough call OP.
I prefer SS to TT. I prefer the CHNR dial (simple, easy to read at a glance). I think I’d take the CHNR |
