14ct wab Rolex bracelet
Hi all sorry to bother you, I have just recently brought 14ct gold oyster perpetual 1002 1969 and unfortunately it was slightly to big (4 links) I took it to my local gold smith and watch dealer who said the bracelet will need to be cut and re soldered (WAB bracelet) I’m just curious if anyone else’s has come across this before and if the links can be saved for future if I need to add them back into the watch kind regards jack.

It might be best to post some photos of the bracelet as it is not clear what type or design you have.
As far as I know, WAB did not make any gold bracelets, but there might have been some gold plated ones. Maybe you have a stainless steel bracelet on a gold watch, or a gold plated bracelet, or a stainless steel WAB clasp on another maker's gold bracelet, or ??? You also say that 4 links need to be removed so maybe it is a Jubilee bracelet, not an Oyster one. The WAB made bracelets that I have seen do not have any soldered joints but have folded links so a skilled watchmaker should be able to remove a few links and reassemble the bracelet with minimal damage, but there's no way of knowing what to do with this one without some detailed photos. |

If the links are cut, that sounds destructive and something you'd want to avoid if possible. Can you show a photo?
