5205G Tiffany vs Regular 5205G?
I am looking forward to getting a 5205G and want it to be a Tiffany stamped dial. My reason for this is just a higher resale value. I really don't care if it's stamped or not, but just projecting future re-sale value. Note that I don't intend to resell but it's assuring to know that I won't lose money in this purchase. Most of the 5205s on chrono are below market thus my reasoning.
Question is, am I buying for the wrong reasons? Or should I stick to the regular Patek and build my relationship there. I haven't started a relationship yet but understand that it will be harder to get other pieces at Tiffany due to more competition. I do have a Tiffany jewelry relationship but I wouldn't say it's significant. |

If you're worried about resale, just buy a nice preowned version at a good price.
The time (including Patek's regular price increases) and money (buying other Tiffany stuff) to get an allocation is surely going to put you far into the red compared to buying a nice preowned example. |

I would think so. Do you like the watch to want to wear and keep it, not just fret over resale. If so, buying one from an AD has its benefits. You are the first owner of the watch, and your name is on the papers. If this is just a piece of so so interest, I would look for the cheapest one used. But you will lose money on this reference even if you buy from a used dealer because they bought the watch at a lower price and are selling it to you at a profit. If you need to sell, you most likely will receive the same lower price your dealer paid for the watch, he sold you. Funny how that works.
I would personally forget about the Tiffany logo. Not worth the trouble IMO. |

Buy a used, regular 5205. Someone else took the big depreciation hit for you already.

I recently picked up the green dial, it’s a really cool combo.
