124060 on Chevron strap

I know that this is more of a bracelet crowd, but I’m digging this new strap. As some of you may remember, my bracelet broke a while back.

Disappointed, but my AD and the RSC in New York took care of it in about a month. RSC made the bracelet repair and recommend a new crown ($50 US). My AD offered to pay the $50, without me even saying anything about it, so it cost me nothing. Obviously, I’m satisfied with everything.

Anyway, I’m still a little leery about the bracelet, so I’m on a strap kick. What do you think?

I think it looks great. I had always been kinda iffy on 6 digits on anything but the bracelet but have seen some nice ones posted here lately. I’m coming around, I really like that one.

Nah, looks off, no balance in the overall appearance and this nylon piece is way too thin.

You do you

You do you

Appreciate the input, I actually like that it’s little bit on the thinner side.

I don't mind it. But a modern Sub belongs on the bracelet.

You do you and it looks a bit off.

I’m sure I’m just a bit of a wuss about using the straps. I’m worried about losing the watch somehow, especially if I don’t feel the heft of it on my wrist .

Looks good and it’s always nice to switch it up once and awhile.

Yeah, it’s a nice change of pace. Like most, I also feel the 124060 looks better on a bracelet, but I enjoy playing around with it. For whatever reason, I really like this strap. It looks even better on my Pelagos 39.

It’s funny, breaking my bracelet actually got me on the strap kick. Thank goodness it broke in my back yard and I noticed it immediately. Fluke deal, but it was not much impact at all.

The bracelet always looks better to me on a Submariner from any generation. If you want the NATO look it works better on vintage. Get over the bracelet breaking, I would like to hear that story, and if Rolex repaired it, you will not have issues. So many watches out there that can cover the dive watch mark with a NATO that I would not have any of my Rolex Divers on one.

I was cleaning my pool when it happened. I have a polaris pool robot and the basket was stuck inside the unit. I braced the frame with my left hand (with the watch) and was pulling up on the basket with my right. When the basket broke loose, the corner caught the bracelet. It failed at the glidelock in the clasp on the 12 o’clock side. The plastic sliders came out of the grooves in the clasp, but the springbar looked okay to me.

Good experience with my AD and RSC New York. About a month turnaround, and did not cost me anything. Probably being overcautious now, but I was really surprised how little force the bracelet took to break. The basket must have caught the bracelet perfectly wrong.
