116505 Dial variations (warning: Somewhat nerdy)

Hi all,

Pardon me if this is just too nerdy for you or has been discussed before, I have been able to find threads on the so-called Daytona ‘APH’ dials from older Daytona dials - but not for the 116505 (now discontinued RG Daytona)

The point: It seems that on some older white 116505 dials (2011 - 2020ish) - the ‘aph’ part of ‘Cosmograph’ is slightly separated from the rest of the word. A little extra space, as has been seen before for whatever reason :)
Then, interestingly, Rolex seems to have ‘caught’ the error, and somewhere around 2020 they changed it to be much more consistent.

Does anyone know more about this and if you have either variants of that dial, can you please post a picture and year of the watch?

(Am struggling with photos, hope you can make it out)

:)

Dials are made in 3 different factories now all owned by Rolex so there have always been and always will be tiny miniscule differences on most all models.

Of all the "somewhat nerdy" things discussed on this forum, this is somewhere in the middle. I was excepting some serious minutiae This is a good observation.

Interesting! And fascinating that one of the factories got their dials through Quality Control 😊
