The problem with this canopus is that it is too similar to the Broad Arrow replica.

Was the other Broad Arrow also 38.6mm?

I get for most that might look the similar. That’s fine. But it’s nowhere near the same watch. Different material, dial, hands, movement, and other things. Yes, it’s a nice option, but subjective depending on the individual I guess. Feel/look in person is completely different. Anyways, yeah, I’m trying to shoot myself on the foot

The “it looks similar” argument holds zero weight on a luxury watch forum. The little details are the entirety of why we are all here. It’s simply a matter how many details does one care about and how many can one afford.

As much as I’m attracted to the exclusivity of the 321C, I can’t forgive Omega for obscuring the gorgeous 321 movement with that Hippocampus.

Perhaps if it were possible to get a clear crystal fitted in lieu, it might make my shortlist.

I am referring to the Speed 359450. Of course, the case is different (helical lugs and not straight lugs) but the dial, the spheres, the applied logo, in short, are very similar.

Doesn't do anything for me, especially at that price. Much prefer the 321 platinum over this one.

321c is very special in person. the onyx dial really comes to life in an array of light, and the faithful details bring joy when thinking about the legacy of speedy.

100 % agree.

We could really go down market and buy different brands that “look” a lot like our favourites

I’d have to see it IRL to be sure, but I tend to agree, I’m not a fan of it in pictures.

That said, I’ve come to know that seeing watches up close and personal is the only way to truly judge (for me)

EDIT: it’s only fitting you add this one to your stellar set

My 2024 aspirations are more conservative.

1- Cull the collection
2- Pick up a 40th Snoops.

Right … went through a bit of that myself this year.

What is the state of your collection if you don’t mind sharing …?

I was excited for this piece when it was released - until I saw the usury level pricing

I own a ss 321 and platinum 321 and love my ss anniversary version of this piece so I couldn’t wait to order it in gold but they are just flat out taking the piss!

While yes the 321 movement is cool - and historical - it’s not near the level of brands in the 100k field

This release actually started to erode my confidence in the brand - then the moonswatch debacle sealed it

That said they make some great stuff - even if they insult your intelligence with pieces like this one

Very well-worded vs my "you must hate money" response.

Just got around to looking up the price. Holy smoke! Nearly 90 grand? Ouch, I have to be a big no on this one. There's so many other pieces I would prefer in that price level. I still think the platinum 321 if pure fire and substantially less money.

This ....

Although I'm not quite ready to write-off the brand, Omega will have to provide better value if they hope to survive this economy.

Love this watch and loved it the moment it was released, but was absolutely shocked at the price. I truly believe the price should be cut in half and that’s what the watch is worth and what I’d buy it for.
