Potential DD purchase

My grey dealer, who I have an incredible relationship with, reached out and said he just got in the white RG DD40. Very tempted, to pick it up. Was planning on getting it the second half of the year anyway. Getting it a few grand below retail, seems about right.

The question is this…I’m wondering what will happen to the frequency of wear with my others? Anyone have personal experience here?

That looks fantastic. I’m waiting for my AD to source that particular reference.

I would wait for the second part of the year as I think there will healthy discounts to be had on this reference.

Good looking watch. As for frequency, that depends on how much you wear your other watches.

Frequency of wear depends on the owner. There are many men who wear their DD everyday without thinking twice, others using when doing something special. Many worry about today's crime and fear wearing it out. WG is more subtle for those who worry about looking blingy. Hell, life is short, enjoy the watch.

I am not a RG fan and have tried to make them work several times. RG comes into popularity every so often and the hype with it. They also fade and go out just as quick as they arrive. My issue is that the RG from Rolex is more coppery looking and as they age they get more so. I also do not believe that the RG matches my skin tone as well as YG. The last thing is that I match accessories to metal colors so if RG, it is a RG belt buckle, eyeglass frames, pen, cufflinks, hardware on the briefcase, etc. you get the idea. If you really want to know get in touch with a few Trusted Sellers and see what they will give you for the watch in a trade or sale and compare that to what you will pay and you have the financial answer. If you are going PM then I would go YG if you want a colored metal. Good luck and let us know what you decide. The DD II is one of my favorites and I just included a picture, as we all like pictures.

Love me a DD. Personally, I would pass on that particular dial though.

I wear my YG DD pretty regularly on the weekends. I’ll never let it go, plus my 17 year old son has already claimed it, but he may have to fight my daughter for it. I’m fortunate that all three of my children are interested in our hobby.

Curious how old the watch is. If it almost brand new, and you want it, I would take it. If it's a few years old, I would wait and see where the market goes.

How much you will wear it depends on your taste for the watch over the sports models.

Warranty card dated mid-2022. Looks to be almost never worn

Love my RG DD40. Great looking watch and a nice change from the typical olive and chocolate dials.

I don't wear mine that often because it draws too much attention at work but on the weekends and evenings I definitely wear it as much as I can.

Yes, this is the only way to find out. Must be scientific in your approach, OP.

Certainly appreciate the well thought out comments. However, I much prefer the RG with this configuration.

I got it from my AD for my 50th a few mths back
YG not RG for me.
Elegant yet still sporty due to the white dial.
Go for it!

It’s a good amount of money to spend on a piece. Make sure you can find a place for it in the rotation!
