What combos do you feel just go together?

For me I have always thought that on the DJs smooth bezel with oyster bracelet and fluted/engine turned goes with Jubilee.

With the Daydate it can only be with the president braceletm its what makes the watch unique. I find that on a oyster it looks too much like a DJ from distance.

TT Daytonas look better with lighter dials (white, grey)

Good idea for the start of a new thread, Roger.

More than combos, I prefer to go with CONTRAST. I think a good contrast can be instrumental in making a watch look good.

For example, a poor contrast would be a champagne dial with a gold bezel....too much camouflage. On the other hand, a black or blue dial with a solid gold bezel makes for a superlative contrast and thus more appeal to the eye.

Just my thoughts although others may have some better ideas.

Cheers - JJ

Just don't go losing it in the Serengetti, and if you do, don't go trying to find it.

Well naturally the black dial on the ExpII is a no-brainer.

I also really like the DD in WG or platinum with the sky blue dial. Also, a SS DJ on an oyster bracelet, white dial with arabics and a smooth bezel.

But the ultimate is the rolesium YM. The only improvement possible to that watch is upgrading the clasp to match that of the SS D.

That is a very smart guy Johnny about summed it all up perfectly, except for maybe that part about the black dial only thing.

It makes me sad to see JJ's posts. I kept all of my PMs with him for good memories. RIP.

RIP JJ. Never bantered with him on TRF, but know he was beloved and enjoy coming across his musings when they resurface here.

As for combos, and as others have stated:

1) Fluted Bezel / Jubilee Bracelet
2) Contrast - White Dial / Black Bezel
3) Any configuration, because I like most every Rolex configuration!
