Your kid’s Rolex
II gave my daughter white Milgauss for her 21st birthday (now 12 years ago).
Her reaction is priceless! https://youtu.be/4tqO51tQxBQ?si=uusypKh7XnyYL4iI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My youngest gets my Explorer and BLRO. My eldest gets my Sub and DJ. Interestingly they both like the Explorer best. The Tudors will go to my nephews.
For now my youngest is starting his collection with a classic F91. |

Haha, I hope it works out ok. My baby was born while I was wearing the AK so he gets that one. My older kids, one of them wants to be a pilot and likes the BLRO, the other doesn't like the colors and says he likes the polar better. I don't tell them one is at a huge premium v. the others. Who knows what will happen to values over the next couple decades anyway!

I have a similar story to many here, but with a slight twist. I had a DateJust 16013 that I purchased when I was 25. When my son turned 25 I considered getting him a nice watch and the one he wanted was the same specs as my DJ. I figured it gave me an opportunity to start my collection all over! So I gave him my 16013 Datejust when he turned 25 and he wears it all the time. I had it serviced before I gave it to him and the jubilee band rebuilt. He is much easier on watches than I am and it still looks brand new.
Not sure what I will do with my current collection. May sell them for medical care when the time comes? |

No kids, two nephews. I’ll see who treats me the best in my older age… both are too young to care about watches or really appreciate anything that is of ‘value’.

My goddaughter ,11 yo now ) will get a gold Cartier Panther Vendomewith diamond bezel, and a Rolex Datejust 1987 36mm, steel I bought @my first job after grad school. She has an Apple watch I gave, which she loves. But she will get very some nice jewelry I have saved for her.
My nephew, in finance, a modern Rolex from my collection that’s not sold when I’m much older….retired in 5 years? But I already gave him an Omega Seamaster Sub. My last watch to keep until I’m gone will be a DD-40mm yellow gold and will go to my partner. it’s nice though to give sone while we are here…my dad did that with me (several). It’s nice they can say now: “my uncle gifted this one!”. 😊

Such a great story behind this one! Does it still get some wrist time in the interim?

I’ve specifically bought my girls an OP31 each which are put away for them. They will of course then receive all of ‘my’ watches too when I’m dead.

I don’t assume my kids will have any interest in my watches, but at the least they can sell them for some something they do appreciate

I plan on giving my son a 16710 GMT with all 3 bezels and both an oyster and jubilee bracelets. He will inherit my 1680 and OQ DD as well but when I am gone. I have many more but may down size my collection over time. I plan to give one each to my stepsons too.

I hope I will have the time to sell my watches before I croak as I have nobody in the family remotely interested.

That’s a whole collection in one! Love the 16710 for the versatility; perfect first piece!

No kids but 2 nieces and a nephew as well as 2 older sisters. I've already bought them each a Rolex along with other watches. My oldest niece is the most into watches (she has 2 Rolexes already). My will says oldest gets 1st pick. My nephew has already chosen my 50th Silver Snoopy. My oldest niece wants my DD RG Olive. The youngest hasn't decided yet. She's likes larger watches, currently has the Explorer II Polar 42mm. She will probably get the BLRO.

Mom's 1989 DJ President was recently handed down to my wife's daughter.
