I would leave as is.
Very cool, unique dial.

Wow, good to see a “rare” Daytona for once!

Does look a bit odd without the red 'daytona' writing. Nonetheless, I would leave as is, it is a very unique piece.

Sketchy. could be an error dial. Could be some fishy stuff going on with HK AD's because the watch looks worn with scratches already. They could be selling Frankenwatches. Wouldn't trust an AD outside UK and North America myself.

So odd so many people in this thread are thrown off by a few scratches. OP never said he bought the watch today. This ref has been out for a year now……

2 reasons it looks like he bought it today:

He didn't know the Daytona was missing on the dial for weeks. I'd notice 5 seconds after looking at the watch at my AD when I pick it up.

The location the photo is taken seems to be an AD. Maybe he decorates his house with Rolex furniture and magazines?

Meaning you would not trust a non-anglophone dealer? You do understand that Rolex is Swiss, right? How about a dealer in Italy, Germany or France?

Have you heard of Pisa or Verga? Would you rather trust your local South Florida Mayor’s?

Ok, OK, fair points.

I assumed the picture was taken in the lobby of an RSC though. My local RSC lobby is decorated just like an AD as well.

I'm mostly kidding. I wouldn't buy a Rolex outside of my local AD really. I'm sort of old school. If I had a problem with an AD I'd want to be able to go there in person and sort it out, fisticuffs if need be. Can't do that if you buy on vacation and then you get caught in the trying to sort out issues through overseas emails/phone calls and translation issues. Just not something I'd do.

Well, looks like he is at RSC, the watch is not recently purchased, has had it for some time now, and RSC has validated its authenticity as is willing to replace the error dial in question.
So as the old Wendy’s commercial, where’s the beef?

Correct, the background is RSC , i took the watch to check to make sure it is an error dial

So what's the story with the watch and dial? You bought it new 2 months ago and it's the wrong dial?

Lovely watch!
I know this is potentially a few years down the line...just wondering what will happen when it goes in for a service? will they ask you if you want to keep the error dial, or automatically swap it out?

You can’t read? OP has worn his watch for 2 months. The picture was taken at AD because he went to the AD to they can fix the watch!

Actually you can’t read because that was in a reply to one of my own posts. And then my other post was answering someone else’s question. And you listed your location as “Dayona”. So yea blocking you. Good luck!
