Your in Ferryhill? I'm not that far from you, I live down near the beach

I am an "aspiring" watch collector. I have a couple of very nice Seiko's and a Tissot but aspire to have a Rolex (a Milgauss GV). Joined the forum to learn more about this beautiful brand and am slowly becoming addicted to the forum !!

Did you get your watches here in Aberdeen? If so, can I ask where from?

Can you post some pics?

jamison and carry's and my speedmaster from newyork omega, im a bit of an newbe to the whole watch game as well learning as i go but my opinion on watches is to not think about the finacial gain if any and to go for what you like?
However il say it becomes adictive and exspencive and you will end up trying to find a reason to buy a new one lol, im on to my sixth now.

Apologise in advance for my poor photography.

This is my favourite watch that I got from my wife, a Seiko Sportura Chronograph:

And this is my Ice Hockey World Championships Tissot I got from my in-laws. I'm a big Vancouver Canucks fan hence the ice hockey watch.

I've been in touch with Jamieson and Carry and they sent me the Oyster Perpetual catalogue. Had it for a few weeks and I've been studying it like an exam book !!! Totally agree with you regarding going for what you like. Even in the world of Rolex there are watches that some of us will love and others would never buy. But that's what's so great about them...there is a style for everyone

very nice watches if you fancy a rolex i would suggest you have a read of the history of rolex sports watches it fasinating stuff, im always on a quest for knowlege so i eat the history side of it up. you should ge a patek catalog from them as well its quite in depth and awsomly presented i like the catalogs cause they are a nice addition to my bookcase, thats if you havnt got it already, i would also suggest going in to have a look at thier hubolt stand at the back of the store, really cool.

I will definitely do some reading up on the history. Are there any good books on Rolex that anyone can recommend? A search on Amazon brings up a few (expensive) options and it's hard to know what is the best one.

I hope to get into J&C sometime in the not too distant future, but it might be best if I leave my credit card at home !!!!

Ha ha...yeah I know where you are coming from with GS.....they fall into the category of AD's which really don't know very much at all......whereas J&C are the business......I would never buy a watch from GS but they offered to appraise my watches for next to no charge and it was purely for insuarnce purposes, they probably looked in a catalogue and took the current price for the models, but they gave me documents to prove their worth....that's all I really wanted...I knew the watches were fine anyway......J&C offered a similar service but the cost was prohibitive to say the least......
