Why No Deals on Women's Rolex?

I've been looking around for a women's model Rolex for my wife, however I notice that there are not as many "deals" for used models as there are for the men's models . Why is that? Would it be because there are fewer women's models available, and/or are they more collectible? Any thoughts on this? I prefer to purchase "pre-owned" and not new.

Thanks,

Crombie

I don't know the specifics of resale value on these but from what I understand the ladies DJ is the biggest selling Rolex by a considerable margin so I would think there are a large number of them out there in the secondary market . . .

I don't have hard evidence at all, but I suspect women flip their watches a helluva lot less frequently then Men do. The pre-owned market seems very thin. I see very old ones which perhaps came from estate sales...or very new which may have resulted from a Divorce or ???

I'm pretty sure he means in the ladies category that DJ outsells others.

The resale value on the Lady DJ, for that matter any DJ, is terrible IMO. Just wait for after the Holidays and you may have better luck.

I don't have the actual numbers of course, but I read a quote from James Dowling saying that anyway.

I don't have an AD in Chicago, but all the usual places you hear of tend to play the 'we can't discount' line, so I was a bit surprised by the statement.

Even if the dealer is going out of business and he takes a SS Sub to a Pawn Shop he will get more then 40% for it... so not sure where did that come from?
