Slightly different dial on a new SD?

Hey everyone...I stopped by two AD's today to see if I could see a TT blue sub like JJ's in person...just curious NOT shopping! :) Well I noticed that both had SD's slightly different from mine (2006 serial) and what I've seen.

Mine looks exactly like this:

However the ones at the AD's had a very tightly spaced "4000ft=1220m" almost as if there was no space between the lettering. That was the first I'd seen that. Just curious if that's new or not...I forgot to check the "Swiss Made" to see if that was any different.

Hi Charles,

I guess the same old question of Rolex having used different dial printers for the job.

Just like the FLAT "S" and ROUND "S" in the Subs!!

My 2001 SD doesn't have spaces, so it's definitely not a new thing.

There are several different font styles on dials,I some times wonder if Rolex is trying to do there bit, against the counterfeiters.

Interesting...wouldn't that just make it easier for counterfeiters? Very bizarre. I have no idea if they were new SD's but it was in two pretty higher end local AD's so I'm guessing they weren't old either.

Mine is an N series SD, and it looks like mike's, except there's no crown on my crystal...

Dial variations quite common.

I have a SS/PLT Yachmaster. The "Swiss Made" under the 6 o'clock marker is spaced apart while I have seen many with those two words close together. Both real, just a slight variation.

No big deal. These watches are made to be enjoyed, not fussed over to the point where it could drive you nuts. Right?
